We're Getting Around

At the American Heart Association Walk in West Palm Beach Diet Balance nutrition professionals, Michelle Parenti (left) and Carmen Dragen (right), educated the public  on healthy snacking and calculated the body mass index (BMI) of attendees to determine weight status. The education was well received.  Those we spoke with expressed the need for nutrition education and health promotion programs for themselves and for everyone at their worksites, churches, and community centers.

Aim for a Variety of Snacks Each Day
Nuts make a great snack food. They contain the kind of fat that is good for your heart. They also have many nutrients and fiber. Keep nuts in your desk at work. Eat a handful when you feel hungry. Take a little less than a handful and include a small piece of fruit with your snack. Enjoy!
